The determination of individual mathematics placements is a process that is taken very seriously by all
participating members of the professional staff. The ultimate goal of the placement process is to ensure
that every child is enrolled in a mathematics course that will most appropriately and effectively challenge
her/him throughout the school year. An extensive amount of careful thought, examination and
consideration has been put forth by all members of the Fieldstone Middle School mathematics department
Placements are driven by the comprehensive analysis of student performance data from a variety of both internal and external sources. Detailed placement letters are mailed home to each family in early July.
